“High readings indicating possible breakdown of the DPC (or bridging of any
DPC present) were evident to much of the left hand wall of the garage
conversion and utility room extension/WC.
Given the basic nature of the garage conversion and extension behind there is
no guarantee of course that these walls actually incorporate a DPC.
Penetrating dampness was evident to the small section of chimney flue
brickwork in the roof space below where an original left hand flank chimney
stack has been taken down above roof level. We suspect this may be due to
inadequate tiling over the resultant gap. Further investigation is necessary
and appropriate remedial works must be undertaken to prevent recurrence
together with all allied repairs.”
