The roof is a double pitched construction with front and rear gable projections and a clipped hip above the left hand flank wall. The roof is of timber construction comprising 75mmx200mm purlins strutted off the internal walls and 50mmx80mm rafters and ceiling joints set at 400mm centres. The roof slopes are covered with plain clay tiles with mathcing valley, ridge and hip tiles. There are few slipped/broken tiles and localised deterioration in the pointing on the ridges and hips. There is no felt lining under the tiles which means that there is no secondary barrier to stop damp penetration. )
