Fire Alarms and Smoke Detection
A new Advanced MX4402 two loop, expandable to four loops, analogue addressable fire alarm panel and ancillaries shall be installed to BS5839-1. The panel shall be located in Hasil 4 office on the third floor and shall serve the second and third floors and the roof. Automatic detection shall be installed to BS5839 generally to L1 standard.
The main panel shall be provided with integral battery back-up, providing 24 hour battery autonomy.
A new Advanced MX4806 6 loop, expandable to 8 loops, analogue addressable fire alarm panel shall be installed in the ground floor security office to serve the basement, ground and first floors. This panel shall be networked to the third floor panel via a diverse route.
The fire alarm system shall be arranged to reflect the requirements of the fire strategy document for the building.
Disabled Toilet Alarm
The disabled toilets shall be fitted with an audible/visual alarm unit to call assistance in case of an emergency. The toilet shall be provided with an alarm cord and reset unit as indicated on the drawings. Externally, an audible/visual indicator shall be provided, located over the door.
The unit shall be finished satin stainless steel with red indicator lamp. The plate shall be engraved Disabled Toilet Alarm’.
The unit shall be manufactured by Wandsworth Electrical Ltd. or equal.

WIRING
• In public visible areas conceal wiring within the fabric of the building and risers wherever possible

• Any areas where wiring to be chased in to be agreed with client on site in advance
• Make good all disturbed areas to a plaster finish (decor work done by others)
• Should any wiring affect existing fire breaks in ceilings, floors, or walls, these fire breaks will require reinstatement
EMERGENCY LIGHTING
• Supply and install one consumer unit with circuit breakers for the emergency lighting and the fire alarm system
• Supply and fit 6no emergency light fittings to the staircase and landing areas
• Supply and fit 2no emergency light fittings to the lift motor room
• Supply and fit 1no emergency light fittings in the lift shaft
• Supply test key switches for the emergency light fittings
• Interface emergency lighting with common area lighting system to activate emergency lights in event of mains failure or other failure of main lights
AUTOMATIC OPENING VENT (AOV) - (please quote as option)
• An AOV is not obligatory. However we believe an automatic smoke escape route is desirable if possible
• We believe the simplest way is to modify the highest level window on the staircase, fitting it with automatic opening system linked to the smoke alarm at the highest point on the staircase.
• We would welcome your advice and recommendations as to how this can be done and how much it would cost
CERTIFICATION
• Certificates for design, installation, testing, and commissioning (suitable for presentation to the fire brigade inspectors) to be provided on completion of works
MAINTENANCE
• Separate quote please for regular maintenance and testing programme
