> Job description: I have planning permission for a double storey back extension to my detached house in Richmond London. I need someone to do the foundation and floor slab work. The foundations should be normal trench foundations about 1m deep by 60 cm wide cast to 85 cm high. The extension is basically 5m by 9m rectangle (build against the backwall of the existing house with a division in the middle i.e. trench length of approx. 24m. The floors need to be cast as well to 10cm depth with DPC although these slabs only hold the sleeper walls for a suspended floor i.e no insulation etc is required. I need the following done: 1) Dig the trenches I presume by hand since digger access to the back of the house would be difficult and get rid of the excavated ground. We have sand here so digging is reasonably easily done. Site access is also easily available through a passageway past the house about 1m wide. The street is a very silent widely open one. 2) Place the concrete for the trenchfill. 3) Build a few courses of brickwork to damproof level. 4) Excavate the ground(get rid of it) and place hardcore and compact. 5) Cast the floor slabs on 1200g damproof membranes with 10cm thickness. No screeding since the floor only carries sleeper walls for the suspended floor. What would such work cost more or less just to get an idea and how long would it take? I fully appreciate that you would have to give a more detailed quote later which can obvioulsy be different once you have surveyed the site etc. ...
