> Job description: Hi there, I have very recently moved into a house and found out that the sound insulation is terrible - the neighbours raised voices and general murmur of normal chatting can be heard (not the TV). There is a couple there with a 20 something son and the parents are away so we ve barely slept in the week since we ve been in - I am 5 months pregnant and we have an early rising 18 month old. I have researched the types of sound proofing available and the width seems to range from 55mm to 125-150mm but what level do you think is necessary and what sort of cost for 2 bedrooms (approx 6 sqaure metres for one and perhaps 8 for the other) and downstairs lounge/dining area (not including chimney breast) of about 12 square metres ish? Very approximate sizes these! I am just looking for a ball park and what is recommended for the noise problem. Also, it d be good to know what local contractors there are. ...
