> Job description: I currently have artex (or similar textured plaster) on the walls of my hallway and in one of my bedrooms. The ceilings are all smooth. I am looking to have all of the textured walls smoothed over. I am not sure whether this means the artex will need to be removed first or whether the walls can be skimmed straight over. The bedroom is 12ft x 10ft. In terms of the hallway, it is the size of a hallway in an average 3 bed semi house with stairs running through. The biggest complexity is that there is a big expanse of wall (essentially double height ceiling) above the stairs which covers the entire height of the house. In terms of the amount of walls to cover, it looks to be 2-3 times that of the bedroom at a guess. I am trying to understand the level of work required and what the costs of doing the work would be, either on a sq meter/sq ft basis or day rate (if you can assume x number of days to do the work). Once I know the cost, I can fit it into rennovation work schedule. Thanks
