> Job description: We live in a modern building with 85 flats. The windows are badly insulated and do not close completely leading to an enormeous waste of energy during the winter. Replacing the windows/frames is most probably not an option since it is a flat in a bigger building. For our flat, we would like a solution, which prevents any draft and internal humidity/mould. We are open to suggestions on the best way to solve our problem, but we will need a quote for the work to be done. From what I can see, the silicone may have to be replaced and additional insulating material added to the frame. The window frame is made of steel and most of the windows swivel from the center (to an horizontal position if the stopper is removed). There are 5 windows opening from the center of the frame (140cm x 110cm), 2 juliet balcony windows (75cm x 210cm) opening normally and 6 smaller windows (55cm x 120cm) from which 2 are opening from the centre of the frame one opening horizontally and 3 are fix. After completion of the job, the wall around the frames will probably have to be replastered. ...
