There are central heating pipes running up the wall near the fireplace boxed in (7in wide x 2 in deep). Approx 1 meter of the plywood 'box' would need to be replaced with fire-proof material (superlux?)
Access to (slate) roof will have to be with ladders.
A reasonable quote will lead to additional work on living room fireplace, hopefully being done at same time.
